You're reading an old entry from Michelle "Lexi Kahn" DiPoala's online diary, formerly called Jungle Sweet Jungle. Blog name changed to Low Budget Superhero in October 2005. Now I mostly go by SuperLowBudge. You can call me Lexi, Michelle or SuperLowBudge, or if you're my mom, then Shelly. Enjoy these old posts (except if you're my mom.) OH yeah...the chicken that polkas

(April 26, 2006)

I am hunting pictures from my digital camera from when All the Queen's Men went to Europe. I know they're somewhere on one of these CDs that say "Lexi Back-up." Here's the kind of thing, though, that happens when you're looking through files from three, four, six years ago. I found this partial poem from Christmas 2K.

Puzzles were puzzed and Elmo was fun,
The electronic puppy could sit, bark, and run
But just as a spark is compared to a flame
Thats how these playthings compare toThe Game

The Game is confounding, The Game is tenacious
The Game is as random as hell is hellacious
A flick of your wrist and a toss of the dice
Its Lady Luck (not Santa) asking Naughty or Nice?

Walter rolls with a flourish, planning a scheme
Henry plays dice boy for the whole team
Lady Luck doesnt care if youre bottlewasher or chef
She treats you the same...well, all except Jeff

Experienced Gamers suspect the big ones
And light ones and long ones and nice holly-sprigged ones
It rattles, it shakes, its hard when you squeeze it
That ones a gourd, I know itor is it?

When everyone (even Jeff) gets one gift at least
Turn to your loved ones -- and prepare to get fleeced
Its like if the Cratchits fat goose, as they cook it
Was snatched from the hearth; Doh! April just took it

The moment of truth puts a thrill in the air
Thanks for the wonderful...Holiday Gladware?
Trish got a picture frame, and hey, so did Mark
Just like Charlie Brown, Norm got a rock

Sue got something ugly we still cant explain
Norm said its a vegetable but it looked like a brain
Les got some savory liquor of coca
And Jeff got Cornelius, the chicken that polkas...

There's more, but do you care?

And fucking hell, where did I find the time?
