Hub figured out where the other dollar went. He's the only one who knew. If you were stumped, worry not, Hub was an Honors Student when we were in high school and has an IQ easily over 150.

Hub:: the math goes the wrong way
Lexi: how so?
Hub:: the answer is 3x9=27 minus the 2 the bellhop kept =$25 ... what they paid. it makes no sense to add it up to 30
Lexi: Damn math!
Hub:: that's a damned accounting problem. damn accountants
Lexi: Hm.
Hub:: look at it this way. original bill = $30
Hub:: it changes ... bill = $25, bellhop = $5
Hub:: bellhop decides to keep $2 ... bill = $25, bellhop = $2, dudes = $3. each guy pays $9, but that's overpaying ... they actually only owe $8.33. so bellhop keeps $2 means that the $25 bill is matched
Hub:: make sense?
Lexi: Yes but it's still annoying. :)
Hub:: damn accountants.
