The Reviews Are Already Coming Out

INT. SOMERVILLE APT. LIVING ROOM. NIGHT.

A MAN and WOMAN are lounging in a darkened living room. Reading lights cast the odd shadow here and there. The TV is on, though THE WOMAN is re-reading Douglas Adams' Life, The Universe, And Everything, and THE MAN is re-reading Stephen Covey's The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People. They both know that reading books they've already read while half-watching TV is not one of the seven habits of highly effective people, but it is one of their habits nonetheless. The Sunday paper is strewn all over the rug.

WOMAN
(gasps)
Did you see that?

MAN
No. What.

WOMAN
(strangled words)
The..commercial. Musical...Dr. Jekyll...

MAN
...as in, "...And Mr. Hyde?"

WOMAN
Um...yeah but...
(pause)
...it's...David Hasselhoff.

MAN
In Jekyll and Hyde?

WOMAN
In, as you say, Jekyll and Hyde.

MAN
As Jekyll.

WOMAN
And, I'm saying, as Hyde. Usually, the same guy....(trails off)

(long pause)

MAN
Musical version. With music and choreography.

WOMAN
I'm guessing, yes.

MAN
(muttering)
More like Run and Hyde.

CAT enters from kitchen left and nonchalantly PUKES on Sunday paper.

WOMAN
That's all I'm sayin'.
